GARY | Gary Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson will deliver her third State of the City address at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Genesis Convention Center.

The mayor plans to recap 2013 accomplishments and challenges while laying out goals for 2014.

The convention center is expected to be filled to nearly maximum capacity. Those who can't attend also can access the speech live online and Wednesday afternoon on Gary's public access channel.

"There are many Gary natives who live all over the country who want to stay informed about their hometown," said Chelsea Whittington, director of communications. "Our public access channel and IT departments have been working together to ensure that the address will be streamed live for the world to see."

The city plans to provide live streaming of the speech via The Times will include the stream on its website. The speech also can be found by visiting or search for "wjpn" in the ustream site search box.
