A unique guitar is being auctioned off to help the American Cancer Society.
The instrument, covered with autographs from about 25 country artists such as Big and Rich, Gretchen Wilson, Terri Clark, Bucking Covington, Pam Tillis and Trace Adkins. The acoustic guitar was donated by Front Porch Music in Valparaiso.
The autographs were obtained thanks to efforts by Indiana 105's Dawn Patrol morning host and co-music director Steve Zana and his wife, Colleen, who went with him this spring to the 2007 Country Radio Seminar in Nashville.
The signed guitar is on display, behidn glass, on the lower level of Westfield Southlake mall in Hobart, near Sears and Borders Books.
The auction, which takes place on eBay, ends at noon Monday. Proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life of Greater Valparaiso, which takes place June 15-16. Zana has been involved with the benefit for many years.
"It will be hard to let the guitar go," Zana said in a written release, but it is for a cause that is near and dear to both my wife and I. I have a story for every artist we got."
