CROWN POINT | Lake County police have arrested a man wanted in South Carolina on allegations of sexual misconduct.
Spartanburg County police in South Carolina asked the sheriff to search for 28-year-old Travis Miller, who is charged with sexual misconduct and failure to appear on unrelated court matters in that state.
Lake County police Officer Brian Jones was checking the parking lots at several motels Wednesday night when he spotted the suspect's vehicle behind the Dollar Inn Motel, 8000 Louisiana St., Merrillville, police said.
Several officers found Miller sleeping in the car with a female, police said. He has been incarcerated in the Lake County Jail pending extradition to South Carolina. The female was released.
