Man admits biting wife in domestic disturbance
PORTER TOWNSHIP | A Gary couple got into a disturbance that the man and woman agree involved biting, and that the man said involved a baseball bat, a shotgun and a car being used as weapons.
The man, Earl E. Griffis, 46, of Gary, was arrested on battery and invasion of privacy charges following the disturbance at 9 a.m. Monday at the home of the woman's mother at 283 W. County Road 600 South in Porter Township.
Griffis told police his wife hit his face, so he bit her finger to protect himself. He told police his wife then hit him with her car. He also accused her of threatening him with a baseball bat and a shotgun.
