Actor Sean Astin will be campaigning for Barack Obama and other Democrats in Portage and East Chicago today.

Astin, who starred in the movies "Rudy" and the Lord of the Rings trilogy, will also be making stops in LaPorte, South Bend and Michigan City.

According to Obama campaign staff, Astin will encourage Hoosiers to vote for Democrats and ask volunteers to reach out to friends, family and neighbors in the final hours before Election Day.
