An 80-year-old
Schererville woman missing in Yosemite National Park since July 30
has been found dead.
Ottorina "Trina"
Bonaventura, 80, was reported missing by friends when she failed to
return to the Vogelsang High Sierra Camp after a day-hike. More
than 150 searchers from counties throughout California, the
National Park Service, and DNC Parks and Resorts in Yosemite Inc.
participated in the search. Dog teams and helicopters also were
used.
A ranger found
Bonaventura's body Monday evening in the Echo Creek drainage, a
rugged wilderness area southwest of Tuolumne Meadows, Adrienne
Freeman, a Yosemite spokeswoman, said Tuesday.
The cause of
death is still under investigation, and funeral arrangements are
pending.
