The students briefly looked at how art has made various statements throughout the ages. They then created a statement of their own by joining in the worldwide project Pinwheels for Peace. Each student created a pinwheel as a way for students to express their feelings about what is going on in the world and in their lives.

On one side of the pinwheel the students expressed views on peace both verbally and visually as well as their thoughts about war, tolerance and living in harmony. On the other side the students added drawings to visually express their feelings. These pinwheels were then planted in the school's front yard as an installation exhibit.

The spinning of the pinwheels in the wind is meant to spread thoughts a and feelings about peace through the community, the country and for all to see.
