CALLING ALL BRICKIES | Hobart
All Hobart Brickie football letter winners and guests are invited to the first Hobart Football Hall of Fame Banquet at 6 p.m. July 18 at the Ambassador Banquet Hall on U.S. 6. Cost is $55 per person, which includes an open bar. The induction ceremony will begin at 8:15 p.m. Former players will have the opportunity to introduce themselves, years played, honors won and collegiate career and will have the opportunity to tour the new Hobart High School and new Brickie Bowl before the banquet. The 1987, 1989, 1991 and 1993 state championship teams will be recognized as well as the inductees.

CAR SHOW | Crown Point
Road Hog Corvette Club presents its third annual Road Hog Car Show July 19 at Buddy and Pals, on Randolph Street, just north of 109th Avenue. Registration, which costs $15, is from noon to 4 p.m., with the show starting at 1 p.m. Trophies and awards will be given out at 6 p.m. All Corvettes, street rods, trucks and U.S. muscle cars are welcome; no imports. A beer garden, food and music will be available throughout the event.

FUN FUNDRAISERS | Crown Point
St. Anthony Medical Center Auxiliary will host several fundraisers from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the main lobby at 1201 S. Main St. Apparel that Works will be featured July 22 and 23, The Nut Man will be available July 24 and Scholastic Books will hold a book fair July 29 and 30. All proceeds benefit hospital programs.

Knights of Columbus Council 1347 of Hobart will be celebrating its 100th anniversary

The Great Lakes Museum of Military History's Board has announced its first Military History Quiz. The quiz consists of 14 questions covering eras of military history from the Revolutionary War to the present. The winner will receive dinner for two at Stop 50 in Michiana Shores, a pair of 14 kt. gold child's earrings donated by Erikson's Jewelers, and two tickets to and recognition at the Red, White & Blue Ball-A Salute to Veterans on Nov. 1 at the Michigan City Senior Center. The deadline for submission of answers is 4 p.m. July 26. Museum volunteers and staff may not participate. If there is more than one correct entry, a drawing will determine the winner. Miller Garden Club holds its annual walk from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 19 and 20, rain or shine. The ninth annual tour, Secret Gardens: Red, White & Blooming, begins at the aquatorium in Marquette Park along the southern shore of Lake Michigan. Free bus transportation will be provided from the aquatorium to each garden site but will end at 2 p.m. A guided bicycle tour starts at 10;30 a.m. July 19. Tickets cost $6 in advance and 47 that day. Free to all, the Misiewiczs, leaders in the Worldwide Marriage Encounter ministry, will address the topic "Investing in Your Marriage So It Pays High Dividends." The Collings Foundation's "Wings of Freedom Tour" of the WWII B-17G Flying Fortress, B-24J Liberator, B-25J Mitchell and, for the first time, TP-51C Mustang will offer rides and tours from 2 to 5 p.m. July 21, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 22 and 10 a.m. to noon July 23 at the Porter County Municipal Airport Terminal, 4207 Murvihill Road. Tours cost $12 for adults, $6 for children, and WWII veterans are admitted free. B-17 and B-24 rides are $425 donation per person, and B-25 rides are $325 or $400 donation per person, depending on position. P-51 flights are $2,200 for 30 minutes and $3,200 for one hour. All donations are tax deductible. WWII Veterans are encouraged to attend.

Spirit Land Saturday Market will take place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 19, Aug. 16 and Sept. 20 at Spirit of God, 1010 Roosevelt St. The outdoor market will feature handcrafted merchandise from artist from and around the community, fresh fruits and vegetables and food vendors. Local musicians, along with gospel and other choirs, will participate. Poetry and dance and talking with the artists about their works is expected to take place. Midwest Sundowners hosts Warbird Day on July 19 at Rainford Field. Any size and model of military aircraft in military colors is welcome at no charge.
