Clark Middle School set to register kids this week
Clark Middle School will register new students by appointment only Thursday and Friday.
Students must bring with them three proofs of residency - a mortgage or closing papers, NIPSCO bill, water bill, current driver license, a check stub with a current address, a printout of public aid or medical card or printout from Social Security benefits, withdrawal papers from the previous school, any special education documentation, if applicable, a physical form showing current vaccinations, the original birth certificate and the students; Social Security number.

MUNSTER
Crime Watch meeting planned for Thursday
The Munster Police Department's quarterly Crime Watch meeting is set for 7 p.m. Thursday in the main meeting room at Town Hall, 1005 Ridge Road.
Information will be presented on crime activity during the past several months, and residents will be able to ask questions of police officers.
There also will be a brief presentation concerning an important crime prevention topic and other upcoming events. Crime prevention brochures, window stickers and other materials will be available for residents to pick up.

Local groups plan rally to push impeachment
The Northwest Indiana Veterans for Peace and Northwest Indiana Code Pink are planning an impeachment party from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Highway of Flags Veterans Memorial at the southeast corner of Ridge Road and Indianapolis Boulevard.
Organizers said there are 36 articles of impeachment against the president and three against the vice president pending before the House Judiciary Committee. The group is calling on the committee to send the articles of impeachment to the full membership of the House of Representatives for a vote and call on Congress to vote for impeachment.
WHITING
School Board members reschedule a meeting
The Whiting School Board has rescheduled its meeting from July 28 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
The meeting is at the Administration Center, 1500 Center St.
The board will meet in closed sessions prior to and after the meeting.
GARY
Chamber introduces 'Lunch with a leader'
Chuck Hughes, executive director of the Gary Chamber of Commerce, announced a new initiative, "Lunch with a leader," beginning Monday.
The program has a twofold purpose. It showcases the different restaurants in Gary and offers leaders in the community a chance to interact with luncheon guests.
The first program is from noon to 1:30 p.m. Monday at Dusties Southern Style Family Buffet, 411 E. Fifth Ave. Mayor Rudy Clay is scheduled to attend.
