HAMMOND | A gunman who shot a Calumet City man to death early Saturday in Hammond remained at large Sunday, police said.
Police continued Sunday afternoon to seek a suspect who shot Michael "Tra" Love, 30, to death at a party, said Hammond Police Chief Brian Miller.
A family member said Saturday that Love was shot after a fight involving fireworks exploding near Love's baby stepson. Miller said a gunman wore a bandana over his face as he shot Love from behind about 2 a.m.
Love died at St. Margaret Mercy Healthcare Centers in Hammond about an hour later.
Anyone with information on the shooting can call Lt. Zeke Hinojosa at (219) 852-2906.
