LANSING | A candy shop owner tripped and shot himself in the leg with a handgun Thursday night while he was closing his Lansing store, police said.
The man was not seriously hurt when he shot himself about 7 p.m. in his empty store in the 3200 block of 171st Street, Lansing police Sgt. Al Phillips said.
"One shot fired into his leg and he's on his way to the hospital," Phillips said Thursday night.
The shop owner was not cited Thursday night.
