ARMY | Ryan Gabe

Army Pfc. Ryan Gabe has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises. Gabe is the son of Robert Gabe Jr., of Lansing. In 2003, the private graduated from Thornton Fractional South High School, Lansing.

AIR FORCE | Shekita Williams

Air Force Airman Shekita Williams has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations. In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Williams is the daughter of Allen Williams of Rockford, Ill., and Khrishena Gault of Calumet City. The airman is a 2007 graduate of Auburn High School, Rockford.

AIR FORCE | Jonathen Gonzalez

Air Force Airman Jonathen Gonzalez has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations. In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. He is the son of Madonna and Ricardo Gonzalez, of Portage, and a 2006 graduate of Portage High School.

ARMY | Cody Wollweber

Army National Guard Pvt. Cody Wollweber has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises. Wollweber is the son of Erick Wollweber, of Hammond.

ARMY | Jamal Drayton

Army National Guard Pvt. Jamal Drayton has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experiencing use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman.

Drayton is the son of Leslie Drayton, of Hammond. The private is a 2006 graduate of Morton Senior High School, Hammond.

AIR FORCE | Corey Moreau

Air Force Airman Corey Moreau has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations. In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. He is the son of Angela and Ken Moreau, of Hobart, and a 2008 graduate of Portage Adult Education School.
