Thornton Fractional Golden Alumni Association

About the group: Social organization. Established about 10 years ago. Publishes directory, holds annual banquet. Nonprofit organization.

Mission: To provide friendship and camaraderie among graduates.

Special events: Thornton Fractional Golden Alumni Association publishes an annual directory of all members, currently 600. An annual banquet in June allows members to meet and share memories and four $500 scholarships are awarded; one to a student from Thornton Fractional North High School and three to children, grandchildren or great-grandchildren of alumni members. New members are recruited at reunions.

Advice: "It's a good way to meet people. I like to give people the opportunity to meet their friends," said outgoing alumni president Gene Wolfe.

People might be surprised to know: "The wide range of members' ages. We have graduates from the class of 1931 to 1958," said Wolfe.
