Mothers for Porter County Kids annual Winter Boot Drive is underway. Founded in 2004 by Erin Burton, Laura Steele and Nicole Rossmann, Mothers for Porter County Kids is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization providing new winter boots to less fortunate elementary age children in Porter County.

"The boot drive is a great opportunity for the community to make a real difference", said Nicole Rossmann, co-founder Mothers for Porter County Kids. "A donation of only $18 will provide one needy elementary child with a pair of new winter boots."

Mothers for Porter County Kids Winter Boot Drive runs now through Dec. 6.

All boots will be distributed through each individual elementary school in Porter County. Any family unable to purchase boots for their children should contact their school's counselor.

New winter boots can be dropped off at Select Community FCU, 302 Silhavy Road or Trinity Lutheran Church, 201 Washington St. Monetary donations to Mothers for Porter County Kids can be sent to: P.O. Box 185, Valparaiso, IN 46384.

For more information or to hold a boot drive at your location, call (219) 241-2865 or email mothersforportercountykids@comcast.net.
