CALUMET CITY | A Homewood woman stole a car and collided with a parked school bus at 10:18 p.m. Monday, Calumet City police said.

Maisha Cara Rowe, 20, has been charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, Calumet City police Capt. Dan Zorzi said.

The owner of the car told police he left his Pontiac Grand Prix running with the keys in the ignition at 803 River Oaks Drive to warm it up while he ran inside a building.

Rowe entered the car with a passenger, drove eastbound out of the parking lot and hit a parked school bus on Superior Avenue, police records show.

She then fled east on foot through the parking lot, and the car owner and a witness followed her, records state.

Police arrested her at 656 River Oaks Drive.

Rowe also was cited for driving without a driver's license or insurance, Zorzi said.
