The outcome of the House District 15 race was uncertain Tuesday, but Incumbent Donald Lehe believed he had a comfortable lead.

Lehe, of Brookston, is being challenged by Lon Childress, of Lowell, and Richard Niemeyer, of Cedar Lake, for the House District 15 Republican nomination.

Lehe said he won in Benton, Newton and White counties and was leading in Dyer and Schererville in Lake County.

"I feel pretty good I will come through this and be successful," Lehe said.

Although leading in the race, Lehe said he still wasn't 100 percent sure he won.

"We're a long way from finished," Lehe said.

The district covers parts of Dyer, Lowell, Schererville and St. John in south Lake County and all or most of Benton, Newton and White counties.

Childress and Niemeyer could not be reached for comment Tuesday night.
