VALPARAISO | The Porter County Chapter of the American Red Cross is looking for local children to attend a Teddy Bear Tea.

The tea is set for 9 a.m. Dec. 13 at the Boys & Girls Club, 354 Jefferson St., Valparaiso.

Children between the ages of 4 and 10 are invited but each child must be accompanied by an adult. Seating is limited and reservations are required. Tickets are $6 for children and $10 for adults. Tickets can be purchased online by clicking on the right side of the home page on Sign Up today. Click on Teddy Bear Tea and follow the directions at portercountyredcross.org.

Families of deployed military members who contact the office may attend the event free as guests of the American Red Cross. The children may attend as guests.

The Porter County American Red Cross has received special funding to assist families of deployed military personnel. Some of the money has been used to purchase and create print materials that would help military families get to know the American Red Cross.

They can also assist with arranging emergency loans for active military personnel. Some of the money they received will be used for the Teddy Bear Tea.
