Holiday antique show | Peotone

A holiday antique show is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at The Atrium at Will County Fairgrounds. There is free parking and lunch will be available. Admission is $3 for adults, free for ages 12 and younger. Mary Lou's Crystal Repair will be on site both days. There will be furniture, jewelry, toys, vintage clothing, coins, glassware and collectibles for sale. It's sponsored by Crete Area Chamber of Commerce.

Concert Lansing

South Shore Youth Orchestra concert is at 3 p.m. today at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2505 Indiana Ave. Join music director Jennifer Zeigner and the South Shore Youth Orchestra for a fall concert with music of Beethoven, Bernstein, Sibelius and more. South Shore Youth Orchestra is an auditioned ensemble for elementary through high school age string players.

Veterans Day | Lansing

Lansing Veterans Memorial Ceremonial Guard will conduct a Veterans Day program at 2 p.m. today at Lansing Veterans Memorial, Glenwood Lansing Road and Burnham Avenue at the Lansing Municipal Airport. The program will honor military drill sergeants. The Lindbloom High School Jr. ROTC drill team will perform. There will also be a special tribute to the U.S. flag. Members of the ceremonial guard will render a 21-gun salute and taps. Attendees should bring lawn chairs.

Ceremony | Chicago

American Legion Post Illiana Post 220 will have a Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. Nov. 11 at 100 S. Ewing in Chicago's East Side neighborhood. There will be an honor squad and rifle salute. Refreshments will be served afterward in the post home, 10508 Ewing, courtesy of Larry Ganz.

Wellness seminar | Calumet City

The Calumet Memorial Park District will host a Health & Wellness Seminar from 1 to 3 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Sandridge Fitness Center, 600 Oglesby Ave. The fee is $5 for Sandridge members, and $8 for nonmembers. Attendees will learn tips on losing weight, burning fat, and eating on the go, while also learning how to trim and flatten their stomach, firm up the butt and thighs, and define their entire body. Participants will also receive a free blood pressure check and a BMI reading, receive giveaways from the Vitamin Shoppe, and can also win prizes.

Super Bingo | Chicago

St. Florian will host Super Bingo beginning at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 16 at St. Florian School Gym, 131st and Houston avenues in Chicago's Hegewisch neighborhood. Price is $25 and includes lunch buffet, beverage, dessert and set up raffle and door prizes. There's a $500 coverall.

'50s Christmas | Whiting

The Whiting Parks Department will be taking a trip Dec. 11 to the Towle Theater in Hammond to see a Fabulous '50s Christmas, a tribute to Perry Como and Andy Williams. The bus will be leaving at 7 p.m. from the Whiting Community Center. Tickets are $20 and will include show and bus. Deadline for registration has been extended until all tickets are sold.

Pancake breakfast | Whiting

Humane Society Calumet Area will have a pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 16 at St. John the Baptist Catholic School, 1844 Lincoln. Tickets will be sold at the shelter in Munster, Full Circle of Art, Geffert's Hardware and Rex Music. They are $5 if bought in advance or $6 at the door.

Highland Elks Lodge 981 is sponsoring a fish fry from 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 14 at the lodge hall, 3120 45th St. It will include fish, cole slaw, cottage cheese, beet three-beans salad and potato chips. Chicken tenders are also available.

Whiting Post 80 will hold a veterans appreciation spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 11 at the post home, 2003 Indianapolis Blvd. Veterans are guests and will eat free. Other adults are asked to donate $5 and children 12 and younger eat for $3.

Dizzy | Munster

Community Hospital will offer the program Are you Dizzy? from 5 to 6 p.m. Nov. 18 at the Community Hospital Fitness Pointe at 9950 Calumet Ave.

A physical therapist will discuss causes of dizziness, vestibular system and inner ear anatomy and treatment. Certain types of dizziness along with how physical therapy can help alleviate dizziness, improve balance and general activity level will be discussed. Register for this free program.
