VALPARIASO | The Valparaiso Police Department records division will be closed for the rest of the week because a pipe burst and caused extensive flooding of the records area and other parts of the building early Monday morning.
Police Chief Michael Brickner expects the records division -- where people go to obtain crash reports, police reports, handgun permits and fingerprinting -- to reopen Monday.
The office flooding will not affect the department's ability to respond to police calls, Brickner said.
