Three Indiana Youth Ballet students recently received recognition at the Chicago National Academy of Dance Masters Conference in Arlington Heights, Ill.

Hannah Katz, 15, from Crown Point, received a scholarship at the Ballet Forum to attend next summer's conference. Hannah is a senior company member of Indiana Youth Ballet and studies with Elizabeth Bathurst and Eckhard Heidrich.

Receiving Honorable Mention recognition were Haley Bartolomei, 15, of Griffith, and Jacy Vuckovich, 12, of Gary. Both are junior company members of IYB. They also study with Bathurst. Haley received her award at the Student Session, while Jacy was recognized at the Ballet Forum.

Eleven IYB students attended the eight-day conference. They were accompanied by instructors Elizabeth Bathurst and Andrea Reed. They studied under nationally-renown dancers and instructors, including Valerie Robin of the Joffrey Ballet, Jeremy Plummer, Gregg Russell, and Mark Yonally of the Chicago Tap Theatre.

Fall classes at the School of Indiana Youth Ballet begin Tuesday. For more information, visit indianayouthballet.com.
