Man who slept on lawn at bank is arrested
Michael Frangis, 27, was arrested early Tuesday morning when an officer with the Crown Point Police Department saw him lying on the grass of the Centier Bank at 1276 N. Main St.
When he woke up, Frangis told officers he had been at a nearby bar and was walking home when he became tired and decided to fall asleep on the bank's lawn.
Frangis had a blood-alcohol concentration of .095 on a portable breath test. He was arrested and taken to the Lake County Jail, charged with public intoxication.

Station employee accuses manager of sexual battery
A Hobart woman employed at Marathon Gas Station, 7995 E. 37th Ave., filed a sexual battery complaint with police on Thursday, police Lt. Steve Houck said.
The woman alleges the manager at the station touched her in a rude manner.
The incident is under investigation, Houck said.

Auto salesman helps police track armed robber
A man wielding a dark-colored handgun robbed Cleveland Auto Sales, 3698 Kansas St., earlier this week, Police Chief Mike Stills said.
He said the employee who was robbed handed over an undetermined amount of cash from his own wallet after which the suspect ordered him to go to the back of the store.
The employee, who observed the suspect get into a Buick Century then head west toward Gary, got into a car with another employee and began following him, Stills said.
The employee was able to help police locate the suspect's abandoned car at 38th Avenue and Tennessee Street in Gary.
Hobart police canine units were called in to assist in the investigation but the suspect wasn't found.
The suspect was described as a black man, 6 feet, 200 pounds and wearing a white-colored shirt and dark pants.
