CHESTERTON | Westchester Township History Museum gardener Tim Miller will lead a garden walk around the Brown Mansion, 700 W. Porter Avenue, Chesterton, to tell visitors of his and fellow gardener Steve Yagelski's, efforts, with help from other members of the Duneland Garden Club, to recreate an historic landscape for the 1885 building at 2 p.m. Sept. 21.
Miller, who is groundskeeper for all of Westchester Public Library's buildings, will identify plants they chose for the garden, all used in gardens prior to 1900. He will also share tips on propagating and caring for the plants. Information on sources for ordering seeds for these unusual plants will be provided.
The Westchester Township History Museum is an educational service of Westchester Public Library and is housed in the Brown Mansion at 700 W. Indiana Ave. It is open free of charge, from 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday n Sunday. For additional information, call (219) 983-9715.
