Chicagoan accused of trying to use fake IDs

A Chicago man has been charged with two counts of possession of fraudulent IDs after an incident on Nov. 21 at Chase Bank at 1783 River Oaks Drive.

Ahmed Muhammad, 43, was charged with the two felonies after trying to open a checking account with the bank with false identification, Lt. Tim Murphy said.

Muhammad had an Indiana driver's license and ID cards from Walsh Construction, Star Security and tried to use a Social Security number that didn't belong to him, according to police records.

"It was unfortunate (for him) that the numbers he was using were already in the files of Chase bank," Murphy said.
