C.P. man gets 7-year term in gas station robbery
A Crown Point man was sentenced Thursday to seven years in prison for robbing a Dyer gas station, according to the Lake County prosecutor's office.
Jason Piepenbrink, 24, pleaded guilty June 26 to felony robbery.
A female victim was working as a store clerk on March 11, 2008, in a Dyer gas station on Hart Street, prosecutors said.
Piepenbrink entered the store and approached the counter as if to make a purchase. He jumped over the counter and pushed the victim backward, then ordered her to open the cash drawer.
She complied and Piepenbrink took all the money in the register and the clerk's cell phone, prosecutors said.

Woman nets prison time in Griffith man stalking
A Dyer woman was sentenced Thursday to two years in prison for stalking a Griffith man she met through the Internet, according to the Lake County prosecutor's office.
Kathryn Frink-Black, 29, pleaded guilty to two counts of felony stalking.
Frink-Black stalked the 26-year-old Griffith man in April and November 2007 by repeatedly calling him on his cell phone while he was at home and working at a Crown Point gas station, prosecutors said.
