VALPARAISO | Several Valparaiso University nursing majors from Northwest Indiana recently received awards from the University's College of Nursing. Honored were:
Chesterton: Liza Hoffman, senior who was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau, the international honor society of nursing;
Crown Point: Teri Borys, junior who was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau;
Hobart: Linda Filan, who was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau;
Plymouth: Jennifer Emenaker, senior who received the Nightengale Society Academic honors Membership Award; Katherine Gordon, senior who was nominated for the Army Nurse Corps Spirit of Nursing Award and received the Nightengale Society Academic Honors Award, Carlene H. Bartlett Award and the Dorothy Paulsen-Smith Award;
Porter: Sandra Ford, who was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau and received the Nightengale Society Academic Honors Award;
Valparaiso: Jared Swift, senior who received the Nightengale Society Academic Honors Award; Colleen McDermott, senior who received the Nightengale Society Academic Honors Award; Joann Marinkovich, senior who was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau; George Johnson, senior who was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau and received the Nightengale Society Academic Honors Award; Leslie Duane, senior who was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau and received the Gertrude Bluemel Award; Dustin Doering, senior who was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau and received the Nightengale Society Academic Honors Membership Award; Judith Watson, senior who received the Indiana Medical Association of Northwestern Indiana Scholarship;
Wheatfield: Heidi Dunham, senior who received the Nightengale Society Academic Honors Membership Award.
