INDIANAPOLIS | Nearly 8,000 Ivy Tech Community College students throughout the state will receive an associate degree or certificate as the nation's largest singly accredited statewide community college will hold 14 graduation ceremonies around Indiana in the month of May.
In addition to awarding nearly 8,000 degrees and certificates, the community college has granted more than 15,000 certifications thus providing nearly 23,000 credentials preparing Hoosiers for the workforce and providing credits that transfer to four-year colleges and universities.
"No institution in Indiana plays a more vital role in workforce development than Ivy Tech Community College," said Ivy Tech President Thomas J. Snyder. "By offering academic programs that provide students with career skills and credits that transfer to four-year colleges and universities, along with accelerated certified training programs aligned with employer needs, Ivy Tech is truly a catalyst in helping the state compete on a national and global scale."
This academic year was a year of unprecedented growth for the college with more 110,000 students enrolled at Ivy Tech's 23 campuses statewide.
"As we look toward the future, we look forward to building on this history and providing more innovative programs and services for our students and Indiana's employers," said Snyder. "With the support of our partners and friends, and by maintaining a focus on our mission, we believe Ivy Tech can lead Indiana in achieving its economic and entrepreneurial potential."
