'Voices of the Land' presented Sunday

CHESTERTON | The public is invited to join in a celebration of the region in music, words and images at 2 p.m. Sunday at the program "Voices of the Land. The program will take place at the Westchester Public Library Service Center, 100 W. Indiana Ave.

"Voices of the Land" is presented by the Westchester Township History Museum in memory of Dunes naturalist and conservationist Lois Howes (1914-1985).

Field Museum research assistant and writer Joel Greenberg will read from his new anthology of regional nature writings, "Of Prairie, Woods, & Water" (University of Chicago, 2008). Greenberg is a naturalist and environmental consultant as well. His readings will be accompanied by nature photographs.

Musicians Tom and Chris Kastle will entertain the crowd with song. The Kastles are known for traditional material as well as their original works.

The museum is an educational service of Westchester Public Library and is open to the public free of charge from 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday or by appointment. For more information, call (219) 983-9715.
