Celebrate the holidays with music of South Suburban College

SOUTH HOLLAND | South Suburban College is hosting a series of holiday performances. They will take place in its Kindig Performing Arts Center at the college's main campus, 15800 State St. in South Holland, unless otherwise noted. All of the following events are free; donations to the Music Scholarship Fund will be accepted. For more information, call (708) 596-2000, ext. 2316. The schedule of events is as follows:

SSC Jazz Bands concert

7:30 p.m. Dec. 5

This concert will feature the SSC Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Orchestra led by Andy Hoefle.

SSC Evening Chorale concert

4 p.m. Dec. 7

Al Jackson conducts SSC's leading choral group in sacred music for the holiday season. This concert will be presented at St. Victor Church, 553 Hirsch Ave., Calumet City.

SSC student recital

7 p.m. Dec. 9

The students of SSC guitar faculty Linda Kelley perform in a revelry of guitars. Solo and group pieces will be performed, including traditional music for Christmas.

Holiday concert

7:30 p.m. Dec. 12

Join the good cheer as the SSC Voices, PAC Rats Theatre Company, and SSC Symphonic Band present their annual Holiday Card to the Community. The holiday concert is hosted by Al Jackson, SSC choral director, and Andy Hoefle, SSC director of bands, with special appearances by SSC President George Dammer, faculty members and more.
