Purdue sophomore Robbie Hummel, a Valparaiso High School graduate, has been named one of three captains for the Boilermakers men's basketball team.
Junior guards Chris Kramer and Keaton Grant join Hummel in the role for the 2008-09 season.
Hummel was named Big Ten Preseason Player of the Year by conference media last month.
He was a first team All-Big Ten selection last season, Kramer earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year honors, and Grant was named Purdue's team Most Valuable Player.
The trio of captains marks the first time Purdue has had three captains since the 2003-04 season when Brett Buscher (Chesterton), Kenneth Lowe (West Side) and Austin Parkinson served the team.
