MERRILLVILLE | A 30-year-old Merrillville man was charged Wednesday with burglarizing the apartment of a fellow tenant.

Lawrence Steven Zmigrocki, of the 2600 block of West 63rd Avenue, was charged in Lake County court with taking several items on April 2 from a neighbor, who reported personal property missing, court documents state.

Items reported taken included a computer and television sets, court records state.

Court records say Zmigrocki told police he entered the neighbor's apartment through an unlocked door and later pawned the items in Hammond.
