High school students can get information about how to prepare for the PSAT & SAT tests at 7 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Portage Public Library, 2665 Irving St.
At this session, Gloria Vela, a licensed English and Reading teacher, will share with the students how to score high on the Writing, Critical Reading & Math sections of the timed tests. High School students and their parents are invited to attend this free session. For further information and to register call (219) 763-1508.
High school sophomores and juniors in Indiana will have a chance to take the PSAT this year on Oct. 15, for free.
The state will cover the cost this year in an attempt to improve the scores of students on the SAT. During the past year students who took both exams scored 250 points higher on average than those who did not.
