Earlier this month, the new Seven Wonders of the World were unveiled. The list boasted the Great Wall of China, the Roman Colosseum and the Taj Mahal.

There might not be a 4,000-mile wall running through Northwest Indiana, but there are plenty of local treasures.

Based on the submissions, we'll put together a list of finalists and post them on www.nwi.com for you to vote on. Once the tallies are in, we'll unveil the results with a series of articles on each one.
