Anna Dorn first thought that 10 letters of interest from colleges around the country was a lot. Then more came, looking for the services of Munster's dominant middle hitter.

On Tuesday, Dorn, a junior, announced that she'd selected to take her volleyball talents to the University of Illinois.

"I like the school in general," Dorn said. "I would definitely go there even if I wasn't playing volleyball. I love the program, I love the team, I love the coaches, and it's part of the Big Ten Conference, so you know you'll be playing good competition most of the season."

Dorn, who was also looking at Purdue, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana, Florida and Nebraska, will be a pre-med major at the school, and is considering optometry or anesthesiology after graduation.

"She is an extremely powerful middle," Munster volleyball coach Bill Gray said. "Offensively, she's very hard to stop."
