VALPARAISO | From the most advanced 64-slice CT technology to the da Vinci robotic surgical platform to innovations in women's breast imaging and the OSI surgical table, Porter has brought a host of revolutionary technologies to the region n just in the last year.
Information about these and other medical advancements will be available at this year's StayHealthy Fair along with renderings and details about Porter's new hospital campus that is scheduled to open in 2011.
This year's fair will feature more than 70 booths representing Porter, Porter physician practices and community organizations.
Screenings that will be offered this year include blood sugar, hearing, oxygen saturation levels, blood pressure, visual acuity, glaucoma, bone density, body mass index and lung function screenings. Flu shots will be available by the Visiting Nurses Association of Porter County.
Also available this year will be information to join Porter's two newest community programs n Senior Circle and Healthy Woman. These two programs will be celebrating one-year of providing health-related programs, presentations and activities to members during the StayHealthy Fair.
The fair is from noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 5 at the Porter County Expo Center, 215 E. Division Road.
