CROWN POINT

City sees large number of police applications

Crown Point Assistant Police Chief Jim Janda said the department received a pretty good turnout for its call for applications for an opening.

There were 46 applications, but only 20 fulfilled all the application requirements, Janda said. He said he was pleased with the applications that came from as far away as Las Vegas.

The new hire most likely will be on the street in about two and a half months, Janda said.
