GARY | Officers think they recognize the man filmed robbing the Chase Bank at Broadway and 5th Avenue on Tuesday morning, Gary police said.
The man showed the teller a note and escaped with a small sum of cash at 11:35 a.m. Tuesday, Gary police Detective Keith Richardson said. The robber went into an alley, discarded his shirt and left, Richardson said. The man did not display a weapon, he said.
Police continued to seek the suspect Tuesday. Officers think they recognize the man, whose face appears on a bank video recording, Richardson said.
No one was hurt in the robbery.
