PORTAGE | An unidentified woman was struck and killed by a train Tuesday night in Portage, according to Portage police.

Portage police Chief Mark Becker said his department was called at 10:03 p.m. by CSX railroad who reported that an eastbound train had struck a person walking along the tracks just behind Don's Motel, 5500 U.S. 20.

The victim was a white female, but has not yet been identified, according to Portage police.

The crash remains under investigation.
