Vandalism. Joseph Pollock, of 345 Wagner Road, reported a shattered front door window at his residence. The estimated damage is $250.
Theft. Lana Bevil told police she witnessed a male and female in an older maroon Ford Escort going through her mailbox at 910 Portage Ave. Two days earlier, items had been taken from a package delivered to the mailbox, Bevil told police.
Burglary. Josh Landree, of 1175 Dune Meadows, reported the theft from his residence of two X-box 360s, one controller and hard drive,12 games, a Hewlett Packard Pavilion 1600 laptop computer, a 24-inch flat screen TV, a Toshiba DVD recorder and a Nintendo DS system. The loss was estimated at $4,510.
Suspicious circumstances. Sandra Reuille, of Michigami Trail, told police she received a check in the mail for $2,460 and a letter saying she had won a drawing through MDG Group. Reuille said she received a contest entry earlier in the year but ripped it up.
TUESDAY
Theft. Robert Lippner, of Crown Point, reported the catalytic converter had been cut off his pickup truck and stolen during the day from the Shelton's parking lot at 1601 W. U.S. 20.
WEDNESDAY
Theft. Ronald Barber, of Chicago, told police the catalytic converter had been cut off his pickup truck in the parking lot of Splash Down Dunes Water Park at 150 E. U.S. 20.
Breaking and entering. Caleb Heilmann, of 829 Johnson Road, reported the doors of his home and the unoccupied home next door had been kicked in, causing damage to the door frames. Nothing appeared to be missing from either residence.

WEDNESDAY
Theft. Amber Wise told police 150 CDs in a large leather CD case and a radio faceplate were stolen from her unlocked car outside 316 S. 16th St. The loss is estimated at $2.525.
Theft. Clarence Walsh, of 1551 Hogan Ave., reported the theft of an iPod from his unlocked vehicle that was parked outside his residence. The loss is $300. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $200.
Suspicious circumstances. Jack Campbell told police the front door lock of his home at 538 Union Court was damaged, apparently from an attempt to forcibly unlock it.

WEDNESDAY
Theft. Sarah Cruikshank reported the theft of an iPod and combination iPod/cell phone charger from her unlocked vehicle at 330 S. County Road 725 West. The loss is $440.
VALPARAISO
MONDAY
Theft. Jackie Schneider, of 515 Shamrock Lane, reported the theft of several items from two unlocked vehicles parked outside her residence. Missing were 80 CDs, two CD cases and $20 in currency. A purse and a briefcase removed from the vehicles were found in a neighboring yard. The loss is $520.
WEDNESDAY
Theft. Robert Markette, of 3302 Milestone Creek Court, reported the theft of 20 two-dollar bills and $500 in other currency from his residence.
Theft. The catalytic converters of two trucks were sawed off and stolen at 24/7 Repair Service at 1552 Lincolnway, an employee reported. The loss is $1,500.
Theft. William Ferngren told police a blue reflection ball yard ornament was taken from his residence at 501 Franklin St. The loss is $40.
Theft. Christa Emerson, of 204 N. College St., reported the theft of a purse, wallet, driver's license, credit cards and about $105 in cash from her unlocked vehicle parked behind her house. The loss is $190.
Theft. Robert Spaulding, of Kouts, reported the theft of his green Kawasaki Motorcross motorcycle from his father's residence at 1452 Ind. 2. The loss is $1,500.
Vandalism. Graffiti in the form of a Fred Flintstone cartoon head and writing was painted on the north side of K-Mart at 2801 N. Calumet Ave., a security guard told police. The damage is estimated at $200.

Burglary. Robert Jourdy reported the theft of a camcorder from his residence at 7042 Elaine Ave. The loss is $478.

Burglary. A .38-caliber Rossi revolver was reported stolen from the home of Oren Clark at 2911 Cooley. The loss is $283.
