All types of dolls and bears will be on sale and on display for the 14th annual Doll & Teddy Bear show and sale.

The Valparaiso Dolls & Friends will present its annual show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Porter County Expo Center. Admission is $5. There will be more than 100 tables of dealers with all kinds of dolls from antique to modern and lots of bears. Proceeds benefit local, regional and national charities.

"People will be able to purchase dolls, bears, miniatures and doll accessories," said club president Eloise Cashman, who has been involved with the club for 10 years. "We will also have some people there who repair dolls and there will be doll hospitals."

Cashman said they get a good crowd for the sale though she is concerned this year because of economic times. But they do have the same amount of dealers they had last year.

Besides dolls for sale there will be a display of baby boomer dolls like Shirley Temple and those will just be for show, not for sale.

"We always give some of the proceeds to the Valparaiso library and then we give to the Save the Children fund," Cashman said. "Where we give money varies from year to year."

The Valparaiso Dolls & Friends has about 20 members and they come from Lake County including Crown Point, Merrillville and Munster and also Porter County with the majority from Valparaiso.

The group meets at 1 p.m. the second Sunday of the month at the Valparaiso Woman's Club.
