VALPARAISO | The Valparaiso Noon Kiwanis will once again be partnering with Das Dairy Queen at the 30th annual Valparaiso Popcorn Fest. Dairy Queen treats and bottled water will be sold on Franklin Street between Lincolnway and Indiana Avenue during the festival on Sept. 6 in downtown Valparaiso. Proceeds will aid the charitable works of Kiwanis n Serving the Children of the World. There are about 8,000 Kiwanis clubs in 96 countries with more than 260,000 adult members and approximately 320,000 youth. Each year, clubs sponsor nearly 150,000 service projects and raise more than $107 million. Locally, Kiwanis supports youth through the schools and various youth organizations, such as 4-H.
