Lansing police are asking for the public's help for clues in an apparent home invasion early Monday that left one man wounded in the leg.
About midnight, officers were dispatched to a home in the 18600 block of Torrence Avenue after receiving a call of a man being shot in the leg, police said in a news release.
On arrival, officers found a 21-year-old male suffering from a single gunshot wound in his upper left leg, the news release said. The victim told officers that two male offenders dressed in black clothing and armed with handguns forced their way into the residence, the release said.
Once inside, the offenders demanded items from the victim, who refused, the release said. One of the offenders then fired a shot and both fled from the residence in an unknown direction, the release said.
The victim was treated by Lansing paramedics and transported to a hospital in Olympia Fields, the release said.
Anyone with information on the incident, or who may have witnessed anything unusual in the area, are asked to call Lansing police at (708) 895-7150.
