HIGHLAND | Five cases of vehicle vandalism have been reported in town since Monday.
At 4:47 p.m. Tuesday, a resident in the 9500 block of Fifth Street found deep, long scratches on the passenger side doors and fender of her 2002 Ford.
The owner of a 2005 Jeep Liberty reported finding six small dents on the roof about 5:50 p.m. Tuesday, police said. She was driving on Kennedy Avenue beneath the Ridge Road overpass. Police said it is possible rocks fell from under the bridge because of construction work.
A vehicle was vandalized in the 2900 block of 42nd Street between Wednesday evening and about 7 a.m. Thursday. The resident said a 2005 Chevrolet, registered to Reichelt Plumbing in Schererville, was parked in the driveway while scratched on the driver side mirror and rear window.
While checking this incident, police found the left side mirror broken off a 2000 Oldsmobile in the 2800 block of 42nd Street.
The owner of a 1998 Chevrolet truck said his driver side mirror was found broken off about 7:15 a.m. Thursday in the 9300 block of Fifth Street.
There are no witnesses or any more information on these incidents, police said.
