Gasoline-fed flames raced through an apartment building and an auto repair garage in the Indiana Harbor section of East Chicago Saturday night, displacing seven families and causing an estimated $55,000 in damage.
Twelve eager Valparaiso High school journalists arrived at The Vidette-Messenger office this morning. Their purpose was to learn the trade and receive ideas on how to operate their own paper, the Valpost, more smoothly. On their arrival they were assigned to various staff members.
