PRAYER BREAKFAST | Gary

Froebel High School Alumni classes of 1960 and 1961 will host a City Wide Prayer Breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 11 at Davis Banquet Hall, 3401 W. 15th Ave. Guest speaker is Eva Williams, president of the Women's Auxiliary General of Missionary Baptist State Convention, and special honorees are members of the class of 1958 and former Froebel educators. Donation is $20.

PARK HAY RIDES | Lake County

Reservations for tractor-drawn hay rides are offered at the following Lake County park sites in September and October: Lemon Lake, Stoney Run, Oak Ridge Prairie, Deep River, and Buckley Homestead County Parks. Maximum number per ride is 25 adults (more children). Cost on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and holidays is $75 per ride, and from Monday through Thursday it is $50 per ride.Horse-drawn hay rides at Buckley Homestead County Park, 3603 Belshaw Road in Lowell, are $100 per ride (only during daylight hours). Special Needs hay rides are available at Oak Ridge Prairie, 301 S. Colfax St., Griffith, during daylight hours. The hay wagon is able to carry people in wheelchairs. Regular prices apply. Time and day reservations are dependent upon availability of driver.

FISH FRY | Crown Point

An all-you-can-eat fish fry will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 10 at St. John's United Church of Christ, 1288 S. Indiana Ave. Menu will include Alaskan pollock as well as pork tenderloins, parsley potatoes, cole slaw, homemade desserts and choice of beverage. Dan's Fish Fry Service will be the chef. Carry-outs will be available with a drive-through service under the canopy. Tickets are $9 for adults in advance and $10 at the door, $5 for ages 5 to 11 and free for younger children.

HALL OF FAME | Merrillville

Thirteenth annual Calumet High School Athletic Hall of Fame Dinner & Induction Ceremony will be held Oct. 11 at Romanian Orthodox Hall, 750 W. 61st Ave. Cocktails at 5 p.m., dinner at 6 and induction at 7, followed by raffles, door prizes and socializing. Inductees are 1963-64 basketball team, McKinley Young '59, Willie Watkins '67, Fred Sanchez 69', John Lark 84', LaWanda Mitchell '00 and DeMarreo Campbell '02. Visit the historic 1910 Kaske House at the Munster History Museum for spirited presentations, haunting tales, and ghostly encounters that many include Wilhelmina Stalbohm, a mysterious little girl, Jacob Monster, Chauncey Wilson, Huge Kaske and Helen Bieker. HARVEST GALA | Schererville

The St. Thomas More Home and School Association will have its 2008 annual Harvest Gala Oct. 25 at the Halls of St. George, 905 E. Sixth annual Homie's Fall Classic Matt Lovasko Memorial Disc Golf Tournament will be held Oct. 12 at Lemon Lake County Park, 6322 W. 133rd Ave., just east of Cedar Lake. First tee time is 9:30 a.m. Fees are $58 for Professional Division, $38 for Advanced Division, $28 for Intermediate, $18 for Recreational. Lunch and dinner are included. Third Annual Cruisin' on the Ridge Car Show and Fall Festival will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 11 at Trinity Reformed Church, Columbia Avenue and Ridge Road.
