Giggle Palooza | Calumet City
The fourth annual Giggle Palooza is at 8 p.m. Nov. 29 at Harry O's, 816 Burnham Ave. The cost is $5 and includes door prizes, raffles, live performance by the Inominables. Proceeds will benefit the Calumet City Youth Organization, formerly the Calumet City Civic League.

Thanksgiving | Chicago
An Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service will be held at 7:30 tonight at at Lebanon Lutheran Church, 13100 South Manistee Ave. in Chicago's Hegewisch neighborhood. The service will begin at 7:30 p.m. Combined choirs will sing and a bell choir will be playing. Refreshments will follow immediately after the worship service. Everyone is welcome.

Holiday lunch | Calumet City
Calumet City Chamber of Commerce will host a holiday lunch Dec. 10 at the American Legion Post 330, 950 Legion Drive. Festivities get under way at 11:30 a.m. and include a full course luncheon and cash bar. Installation of officers and directors will also take place. Entertainment by the Luther East High School Eagle Choir and door and raffle prizes will be included. Tickets are $25 per person or a table of 10 for $225. Reservations must be in by Dec. 1.

Golf exchange | Flossmoor
Coyote Run Golf Course has planned a new Golf Equipment Exchange event on Dec. 13. Attendees can browse tables of gently used golf clubs, bags and other equipment, offered for sale by fellow golfers. Sellers can set their own prices for items and buyers can negotiate costs. The sale will be open from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at Northwoods Restaurant inside the Coyote Run clubhouse. Those who have golf equipment in good condition can reserve a table at the sale for $10, payable at the door. Coyote Run Golf Course is an 18-hole public course at 800 Kedzie Ave.

Art exhibit | Chicago Heights
Union Street Gallery announces "Halleluiah 2008," a regional exhibition featuring dozens of artists. This year's exhibition and sale includes paintings, prints, fine craft, jewelry, cards, and sculpture among others. Prices range from the inexpensive to works appealing to the collector. The show will run through Dec. 26. Union Street Gallery is a not-for-profit art organization. Admission to the gallery is free and open to the public. It's at 1527 Otto Blvd.

Food drive | South Holland
Living Hope Community Church and the Living Hope Men's Ministry in partnership with The Empower To Succeed Network will be conducting an ongoing food drive to support The Thornton Township Food Pantry. They are collecting the following:
· Canned tuna, ham, chicken, turkey or beef
· Peanut butter and jelly
· Cereal
· Beans dried and canned
· Macaroni and cheese
· Boxed meals
· Pasta and pasta sauces
· Rice
· Soup
· Canned fruits and vegetables
· Sugar and flour
· Coffee, tea and drink mix

Broad Horizons will hold its scholarship fund benefit from 6 to 10 p.m. Nov. 29 at 1234 N. Broad St. The current recipients are Winter Dunn, who has been accepted in the Chicago Academy of the Arts as a drama major and Carlton Barnes Jr., who is pursuing a dance career in New York City. Both are former Emerson students who majored in dance. JJ and the Jazzmasters will perform at the benefit. There will also be a silent auction, wine, appetizers, dancing and beverages.

Create a hand-decorated vase using the Decoupage method from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Center for Visual & Performing Arts, 1040 Ridge Road. Attach various papers, beads and ribbon to create a design. All supplies are included. Registration and payment must be received by today.

On Dec. 6, IN FEAT is hosting a conference on Teaching Games to Children with Developmental Disabilities. This workshop will introduce participants to the book "What You Need to Know About Motivation and Teaching Games" by Steve Ward. The conference and book provide revolutionary insights into capturing motivation and teaching games to challenging students.
