VALPARAISO | Crown Point resident Pero "Pete" Milev, who was cleared by a jury earlier this year of sexually assaulting a female co-worker in a Chesterton car wash, now wants police to remove the arrest from their files.

Defense attorney Paul Stracci asked Porter Superior Court Judge Roger Bradford Monday to order the arrest expunged from the files of county, Chesterton and any other police departments where the information had been forwarded.

Bradford took the request under consideration.

Stracci asked the court to order county and Chesterton police to reveal the identities and locations of all agencies where record of the arrest had been sent.

Milev, now 33, told the jury in May he playfully patted the co-worker's hand while in a car wash after she said she had been afraid of car washes as a girl. That was the extent of the physical contact, he said.

Milev said at no time did he expose himself to the woman or touch her in a sexual manner as charged.

The jury deliberated for only an hour before returning to find Milev not guilty of sexually assaulting his Chase Bank co-worker on Nov. 28, 2006.
