PORTAGE | The woman involved in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident on Ind. 249 Wednesday night has been released from the hospital.
Jennifer Sachs, 35, of Valparaiso, was released from Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, Ill., after being airlifted there for treatment for her injuries, Portage Police Sgt. Keith Hughes said Thursday, adding that he was told she was "doing fine."
Hughes said the state accident report had not yet been completed on the accident that happened about 7:18 p.m. Wednesday just north of Midwest Steel Highway. They are also awaiting the result of drug and alcohol tests.
According to a fire department press release, Sachs was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and there was concern she had suffered a potentially serious head injury.
