Times Columnist Philip Potempa will appear on Chicago's WMAQ-TV, NBC 5 during the 6 a.m. Sunday news broadcast.
Potempa's live segment, scheduled for 6:30 a.m., will feature him preparing recipes from his new cookbook "More From the Farm: Family Recipes and Memories of a Lifetime" as a prelude to his appearance later that morning in Grant Park, where he will be on stage at 11 a.m. at the 27th Annual Taste of Chicago.
The segment will feature recipes and information about cooking with peppermint and his family's farm just south of Valparaiso.
Potempa's participation in the news telecast is a continuation of The Times news exchange cooperative formed in 2002 with WMAQ-TV, NBC 5, to supply the television station with news and features from the region.
