MEMORY SCREENING | Valparaiso

There will be a Veterans Day Memorial Service Nov. 9 at the Indiana Vietnam Memorial Wall, Ind. 40 and Porter Road, behind the ambulance station. The Visiting Nurse Association's Hospice Choir is looking for new members to join the group. The choir rehearses every other Monday evening in Valparaiso. Members learn a cappella pieces to perform at memorial services and in patient rooms at the Arthur B. and Ethel V. Horton VNA Hospice Center. Note reading is not a requirement, but some singing experience is preferred.

Southlake Children's Choir is holding auditions for membership by appointment through August. Southlake Children's Choir is open to students, ages 7 to 15 years, who live in Lake and Porter counties. Auditions are approximately 15 minutes in length, and no experience or preparation is necessary. Southlake Children's Choir is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving young musicians from Northwest Indiana. South Haven Fire Department Auxiliary has cookbooks featuring a collection of recipes from group members, family and friends available for sale. All proceeds will go to South Haven Fire Department Auxiliary and the community and department events the group sponsors throughout the year.
