CROWN POINT | Labor Day brought some bad news for some Crown Point residents who were the victims of broken car windows.

Beginning about 7 a.m. and continuing through the day, the Crown Point Police Department received 12 reports of car windows that had been broken either by rocks or pieces of landscaping, such as landscaping brick, said Assistant Chief Jim Janda. He said the broken windows seem to be connected.

Broken windows were reported on the 1200 block of Troutwine Drive, the 9700 and 9900 blocks of Madison Street, the 1200 block of Center Ross Road, the 200 and 1000 blocks of East Greenwood Avenue, the 1000 block of Driftwood Trail, the 300 block of Magnolia Drive and the 900 block of Mohawk Drive.
